Releasing one with "Blizzard Polish" would just overtake that market. There's a lot of Diablo-Clones on there, and they are popular. I believe they wanted to release something in that market. I do believe that they are trying to make a genuine effort to make D:I a great game. and honestly I doubt Blizz just handed them an IP like Diablo and said "Do what you want, we're announcing it at Blizzcon, we just need it to make money" Blizz has experience with and a decade of experience with Netease, so that likely factored into the choice.īlizzard is publishing it still. Netease manages and supports all of their properties in China. There's some good news at the end of this I promise. This SHOULD have been paired with even barebones information as to where Development is on the next chapter of Diablo is going, and pitched as "in the meantime, here's something for you guys to play with that acts as a prequel to D3" This is a failure in presentation more than it is a failure in design.Īll that said, some thoughts on intent. ![]() I'd like to preface this with a simple comment: This should NOT have been the headline Diablo announcement at Blizzcon. ![]() Last updated at 14:00:17 UTC Weekly Help Desk RAGE Loot Thread Trade ThreadĪdmittedly this isn't the first time they've worked with NetEase.
